WOYWW - No Desk Yet but New Pot!!!

Nice new, lightweight pot/plaster... now-a-days made from polyester...

Corrr!!! look at 'em poor ole swollen fingers eh??!!

Not much movement for that thumb!!!

Hi all... thanks for your visits last week. I really appreciated them... I am STILL up at the crack of doom to get the boys to school then collapse for a while before trying to do a few jobs... then it's off to get my daughter, make lunch, get the boys, cook for 5 people, and stagger to bed!!! Miranda's letter from clinic last week anticipates her having no load bearing for another 9 to 12 weeks, as apparently, she has damaged a ligament which attaches her leg to her foot, and they take longer to heal than bones... her xray was awful!!!

So we are both locked into this dreadful cycle for the forseeable!!! I might not get to Gran Canaria as I had hoped with Freddie, to see his family, after crimble... don't see how I can leave her and the boys... my mum continues with her pace maker!!! I worry ALL the time about all those indignities she is suffering, that she NEVER wanted or looked to have - so unkind...

Well, that took forever, but I am hoping to do a bit more commenting next week... I have visited many of you but just looked for now - please forgive my voyerism!!!  Thanks for coming over...Thank goodness for the place which allows us to share like this.. good old Stamping Ground!!!

Oh gosh poor you! What is great nowadays is that the casts are really light so you dont have a weight weighing down on you. Think you do need to be resting though (you need to milk this as much as possible!) Wishing you a restful week ahead.

What an uphill journey you are on at the moment! Hope you can freewheel soon. I find it so odd that life so often piles so much on us all at once and does not spread it out more. Things must get better. Thinking of you. Take care

You and your poor family have taken a right old knock in the past few weeks, haven't you?? When my husband was recuperating from his quad bypass and was unable to do much for ages, we talked and talked, sorted out old photos and just took time for each other, which was good to do in this non-stop world we live in. Hugs, LLJ xx

Keep massaging those fingers to help them retain less fluid )

Thinking of you hun, poor mum, this side of human life totally disgusts me I don't see how anyone can say that prolonging her existance in a state that has no dignity can be better than having allowed her to slip away quietly while still retaining her pride and the memories she had left.

Hi there. Just a quick peek around the door this week as time is definitely not on my side! I did want to visit though. Hope you all get better soon and that things improve.

Your plaster may be light but it won't stop your hand from smelling like bad cheese in a few weeks LOL - and I speak from experience, I'd get the Alcohol inks on it if I were you and pretty it up. Seriously, I'm sorry that you are going through a bad time. I tore an ankle ligament at the end of July so sympathise with Miranda as well, it took an age to get better but it did eventually, such a pain not being mobile though.

Hope you are ok - you sound a bit fed up this week - wish I could help but sending hugs instead.

My Mum's hand looked exactly the same a few weeks ago but her pot is gone now and although she has a very strange shaped arm she is mightly relieved to have the use of it back so be patient, Frankie, it will be gone soon, although I know you have many more burdens at the minute. My thoughts are with all your family and I hope you do manage your break away, you'll be in need of it.
Take care

Oh Frankie you are being a gem in the face of such difficulty. And I bet you're exhausted! Hope you and Miranda are feeling some healing benefits by now... One day at a time if you can!

Oh, it sounds like you and your family are in the wars at the moment - how much bad luck can one family have? Poor you, your fingers do look swollen - can see why there will be no crafting in the foreseeable future. Hopefully, you will all make a speedy recovery and life can get back to normal. Hoping for a better week for you. Elizabeth x #53

Have been thinking of you Frankie and the family... - must be tough - you are doing such a sterling job and really standing in the gap! Hoping your hand mends mega-quickly so you can be arty again - know you need it.
I'm a bit late...but thanks for sharing. Sarah at 10

gotta love those new casts. The old ones weighed so much and would get damp and smelly over time where the new ones are light and airey! Hope the arm is better soon. Have a great week. Vickie
