Numero 4 - as seen on TV

This is the fourth in the series for Jenny of Hobby Arts, for her show on Thursday 16th April. She has all the samples now, and said they are "as shown on TV" lol!!! She will have them there on display, so I am pleased she likes them. This is a lovely stamp. So pretty and swirly. The story goes that they were drawn by a lady called Jean, and taken to Jenny by Jean's daughter, because her mum is very ill now, in a nursing home. Unfortunately she will never know the pleasure she gives to us stampers, but here is my "thank you" to Jean. The background on front and backer is made with another of her stamps, printed with a shades of blue Blending Blox pad. The main image is coloured using watercolour pencils. Thanks to Jenny for the opportunity, and Jean for the inspiration...

Butterfly Dance

There are 2 challenges here, one for Arty Girlz, butterflies, and Created By Hand, stripes. I cut some narrow strips of various papers, and stuck them diagonally across this 4"x4" card. I stamped the close view of a butterfly wing,(UMount plate) and 2 butterflies - top left is from Elusive Images harlequin butterfly plate. The other is also an Elusive Image stamp. I used inktense and watercolour pencils, in the same colours as the background stripes, and the piece is mounted on a sheet of vintage music. Thanks for fluttering by!!

A Rose by Any Other Name

This piece is for 3 different challenges this week. The first inspiration was Theme Thursday, whose challenge was label. The second challenge was Saturday Workout, who wanted us to use skink plastic, and My Time To Craft gave us the dare to use pink and brown.

I found this lovely label on The Graphics Fairy site and it inspired me to match it up with a new set of stamps from Elusive Images, the harlequin rose plate. The colours were chosen for me by the label and the MTTC theme, so I used my new Derwent pencils and my Lyra watercolours to create the rose topper and the swirly, leafy background paper - also a stamp from that plate. I sprayed it with latte, snow angel and watermelon Gimmer Mists. I printed a smaller rose on to a small piece of transluscent shrink plastic, and coloured it with Sakura Stardust pens. I made a hole in it before shrinking, and added a tiny pink ribbon, tied into a bow. The display paper is a light brown orange peel Bazill basics sheet and the whole piece is 8" square. Thanks for looking.
