Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog - #2

Hi, it is my turn again, to offer a piece at  The Atistic Stamper Creative Team Blog... I feel so pleased to have been asked!! Last time, I did mokume gane and this time, I have gone for triple embossing... it's my very fave thing to do because it is so like alchemy!!! Those powders are fabulous, and especially the Moonglow series from The Stampman, which I used here...

This one uses the two tone midnight  sapphire obsidian and the morning glory azure teal blue - a truly STUNNING colour!! And here, I am modelling my latest piece of equipment - my crafty gloves, specially made to help my poorly, arthritic paws when I am making stuff!! Swish huh?? Wish I had bought 3 pairs, as then I could wash them out when they gets messily horrid!! tee hee... they do help though, through an ordinary day too... hands have been particularly rubbish this last fortnight!!

This is a wonderful colour I bought a trillion years ago from Stamp Addicts. It is verdigris. Wonderful. And I now I must confess that it was watching the girls' so-talented mum, Carol, demo triple embossing, that completely hooked me into crafting. She was an amazingly gifted crafter, and a brilliant stamper... so thanks for the memory, Carol xx    Oh, and I love that screw head too, don't you??

These are the stamps I used... a grid, gears, script, keys, clocks and sequin. They can all be found on the creative team blog, and for sale at The Artistic Stamper... check them out, they are so versatile.

And this is as much of the finished piece that I am going to show just now. Pop and check it out on the Atistic Stamper Creative Team Blog, and leave a comment, please (between you and me, I am hoping for a teamie place there, but keep it a secret between you and me!!)

Off now to do shopping for the second horse show of the season, tomorrow!!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments, they are truly appreciated...
Love and light
Frankie

Two Enjoyable Sessions

As soon as I saw Sheena with these little tins, I knew I had to have them... I bought 3 lots and have just finished these ones, as pressies... I am doing a couple more before I finally stop for the holiday. I used a variety of alcohol inks and made sure to wear some gloves, as it really is a bit messy!! YEY!!

I stamped with UMount stamps and used Moonglow twotone ep on them. The flowers and butterfly (because I got bored with the flowers!!) are on alcohol inked card, finished with diamond glaze to make them shiny and more robust. Pearlidoodles and a few gems have been used to finish off the patterns.

The second session this week was to make a card out of the gothic tag for a friend who lives over the road, who has a birthday on Friday. I hope he likes it. I just made a background in the same sort of style and colours, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole process, using those ubiquitous distress inks!!. It is full of texture and the hanging sun is quite a smiley touch!!

Thanks for looking and for commenting this year. It is coming up a year since I began this blog, and my life has taken many turns in that time. I have met so many lovely crafters and have appreciated each and every one of your visits and ideas. I notice I am almost on 10,000 so that will also be exciting!! Thanks SO MUCH for looking

TIO #14 - Time Flies - La Notte Scivola sul Mondo

My entry for the TIO #14 challenge on DragonsDream, is La Notte Scivola, on the theme of time flies. It means "the night creeps over the world..." My lovely Fred introduced Il Divo to me when we first met, and we play their music lots when we are together and when we are alone... you know how it is!!? The song it's from is Ti Amero. Well, we are learning Spanish together because he has family in the Canaries, and he has never managed to learn the language before... I have an ear for accents, so we are having a go!! For those eagle-eyes amongst you, I spelt a word incorrectly on the tag!! Never mind, I know what I meant!!! Tee hee...

How did I do it? Well, I stamped the moon - it is an old stamp from The StampMan, but not sure what sheet - on a piece of card, coloured with distress ink, then cut it out. The background card is black, pearly and gorgeous, stamped with splatter pattern from Stamp Addicts by Judikins, and embossed in Moonglow ep in midnight teal and midnight violet. The butterfly is an old, old real favourite, first seen used by Carol on a Stamp Addict's show, moons ago - I loved watching that lady work, she was SO inspiring!! Sorry to say, I cut his wings off, after embossing in clear ep and colouring with alcohol inks... The clock is from UMount, creative expressions, and the wings were stuck on with foam pads. I think this is quite a whimsical piece this week!!
Thanks so much for looking...

A Circular Tour of My Arch.

Lots of stamping again for this piece, which was made for 2 challenges. The first inspiration was the colour scheme at Gothic Arches, pink and brown. The form was decided by the circles challenge at Daring Cardmakers. The 3 different agapanthus stamps are from Stampendous and the 2 circular stamps are from Hero Arts.
I stamped the images using versacolour brown, blending blox in shades of brown, worn lipstick distress ink and the pinky end of the happy birthday Big n Juicy. I used a favourite ep all through which is Moonglow 2 tone - Kaiser Rudolf russet, which comes out as a pink/gold, and changes over the brown versacolour pigment ink. The background was filled in by spraying latte and bubblegum pink Glimmer mists, which made it more sparkly and gorgeous... I think I will make a card from this, adding a couple of flowers, perhaps, placed strategically - however, I don't have any at the moment, so it might be a time!!!

"Love is the Beauty of the Soul"

Here is a 4 in 1. I started with the 6"x4" postcard format, and built up from there... OH!!! SO much stamping and such creative fun (on a really bad energy day!!) The theme at Sunday Postcard Art is hearts, and there are PLENTY of those here... At MMM it is hearts and wings, and Lots to Do has chosen wings too. The fourth challenge I shall enter this for is Saturday Surprise, which is "quote" - exactly that, hence the title of this piece, said by St, Augustine.

I loved all this stamping - and used so many different ones to muti-layer the piece. Today, a whole new set arrived from Elusive Images (along with so many other goodies for colouring and effects!!!) So, top down... the UTEE image was made in my melting pot, with black crytals, then imprinted with a wonderful script piece from the harlequin poppy plate. When it was cooled, I rubbed over with cosmic shimmer mica powders, and gently reheated to set them in. The butterfly and the heart/quote are stamped on to vellum and embossed with coral blush moonglow ep. I used this all round the edges of the postcard too, after aging with grey and brown chalks, using cut n dry.

The large, coloured heart is from the harlequin rose plate, as is the quote. I used cream card and three alcohol inks (stream, butterscotch and red pepper) blended and drizzled with the solution, and stamped the tiny hearts from it too (same heart plate) The top lefthand heart is from the butterfly UMount plate, stamped with versamark and dusted with the cosmic mica. The base of the card was stamped with various images and embossed in places to give different textures. The display sheet is my ususal DCWV Far East Stack.

Hope you have not lost the will to live, following this, but I wanted to write it down before I forget what I did, for future reference!! Thanks for reading this tome... Love and light.

Alchemy - GOLD!!! 2 Challenges

Back to where I began - this is what started me crafting / stamping. I saw Carol from Stamp Addicts, doing triple embossing and thought it was MAGIC... it really is alchemy. In making this 4x4, I have used gold and Moonglow two toned golds, which make rose and green gold colours. I stamped into the hot melted mixture with an Aspect of Design stamp, which Ali reminded me of, when she used it. I also used a flourish from a UMount plate, plus some text from AofD, and a few dots of gold Pearlidoodles. It is scrummy and golden, in real life, rich and textural (is that a new word??!!)

I am entering it into 2 challenges today, at My Time to Craft, Go for Gold and Created by Hand, Gold.

Pink - Small World of Inchies & Twinchies

More printing/stamping... I have done a twinchie -2x2, which is a lovely small thingyto do!! The theme at SWIT is pink, so I decided to do some paper weaving, using several Joanna Sheen ODCD backing papers. One of them had roses so I cut one out for the centre then did an inchie in triple embossing. The powders are Moonglow two tones, and the butterfly stamp is one of the set from Kodomo. I think this might finish up as a topper for a card, perhaps with more, larger paper weaving background and a pink crease card - watch this blog/space...
