Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog - #2

Hi, it is my turn again, to offer a piece at  The Atistic Stamper Creative Team Blog... I feel so pleased to have been asked!! Last time, I did mokume gane and this time, I have gone for triple embossing... it's my very fave thing to do because it is so like alchemy!!! Those powders are fabulous, and especially the Moonglow series from The Stampman, which I used here...

This one uses the two tone midnight  sapphire obsidian and the morning glory azure teal blue - a truly STUNNING colour!! And here, I am modelling my latest piece of equipment - my crafty gloves, specially made to help my poorly, arthritic paws when I am making stuff!! Swish huh?? Wish I had bought 3 pairs, as then I could wash them out when they gets messily horrid!! tee hee... they do help though, through an ordinary day too... hands have been particularly rubbish this last fortnight!!

This is a wonderful colour I bought a trillion years ago from Stamp Addicts. It is verdigris. Wonderful. And I now I must confess that it was watching the girls' so-talented mum, Carol, demo triple embossing, that completely hooked me into crafting. She was an amazingly gifted crafter, and a brilliant stamper... so thanks for the memory, Carol xx    Oh, and I love that screw head too, don't you??

These are the stamps I used... a grid, gears, script, keys, clocks and sequin. They can all be found on the creative team blog, and for sale at The Artistic Stamper... check them out, they are so versatile.

And this is as much of the finished piece that I am going to show just now. Pop and check it out on the Atistic Stamper Creative Team Blog, and leave a comment, please (between you and me, I am hoping for a teamie place there, but keep it a secret between you and me!!)

Off now to do shopping for the second horse show of the season, tomorrow!!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments, they are truly appreciated...
Love and light

Heart and Soul Tag for TIO #44

Heart and Soul

I made this tag as part of my "honeymoon" week...It was inspired by  our visit to Bolsover Castle today, where Freddie pushed me around in a wheelchair cos I can't walk far at the moment, and we wanted to see the beautiful ruins.... heart and soul in this relationship then!!??

I started with a piece of the paper I made for our invitations and tore it to add to a distress-inked postcard piece. The original paper was made with alcohol inks then scanned and printed in A4. I used one of Tracey's stamps from The StampMan plate. I also used it on our invitations - 2 hearts theme. Then just did my usual collage thing with several different stamps and cubes from Judikins, UMount etc. The hearts were covered in glossy accents and are actually quite red, but one is on the paper and the other on the glossy finish so the end result was different and scanned oddly!! Really enjoyed this one.

TIO #10 Say it with Flowers

This is my tag for week #10 at DragonsDream - say it with flowers. I was inspired by a bunch that Fred brought me in the week. I am so lucky to be getting flowers again, and I just wanted to share the feeling around!!

I used the new stamps from Kay Carley by The StampMan, flowers and swirls. I just added the net from a much older Aspect of Design sheet, because I love using it in my stamp collages. The background is a mixture of distress inks, Adirondaks and Starburst stains. The flowers are from my stash. Thanks for looking....

TIO #5 - Walk Like an Egyptian

I really enjoyed thinking about this one, for the challenge on my DragonsDream blog - Walk Like an Egyptian. I wanted to finish up with something different this week, and I was pleased with the result. I used a duo of stamps from a Non Sequetur sheet, available from The StampMan. They complement each other with the echo of the column. They were stamped with black onyx, on to white card, and embossed with clear ep. I then splodged them with lots of icy primrose gold starburst stain, with a brushing only of ramblin rose pink. Small details were picked out with various Sakura pens.

The lotus image is one from my computer set and the metal charms are from my stash. The whole lot is set off by the beautifully figured mirror board. So a collage with a difference. Thanks for looking...

TIO #4 - Oriental ... China Blue

Here is my entry for the TIO challenge #4, Oriental - China Blue. It is a subject dear to my heart, oriental... so could not resist making a tag with that theme.

I used a shades of blue Blending Blox pad, on my heat sheet, and smooshed the card about a bit!! Then over printed with the fan shape in the same pad. Think both these stamps came from QVC - they were the ones that peeled off their wood too easily, so I stuck them to Easimount...

The bamboo is from an Aspect of Design sheet from The StampMan, by Kay Carley. It's a fantastic stamp for all sorts of reasons. It was stamped in black onyx and embossed with clear ep (when is it not!!??) The lady and the fan were done in the same way, but on really dark card for contrast. Ribbons and flowers, from my stash... job done!! Thanks for looking.

A Rainbow Inspired Gothic Arch

This is my answer to my lovely friend, Rainbow Lady's challenge, over on Gothic Arches. We were to use 2 colours, 2 stamps and an inspirational comment. I decided to go pink/violet and purple because she didn't!!! We both love the colour, but she desisted and I have jumped in, lol...

I used bubble gum and rum raisin glimmer mists sprayed on to doubly embossed white card. I used swiss dots and stylised flower, through the Cuttle Bug. The stamps are Aspects of Design, by Kay Carley, from the StampMan and a huge dragonfly from Creative Expressions. The words are from a plate by Butterfly Kisses. I rubbed over the embossing and aged the egdes with a lavender chalk cats eye pad and printed with black onyx versafine, embossed in clear ep. I painted with the same glimmer mists. Sakura pens add touches of sharper colour and shimmer and the whole arch is mounted on a sheet of paper, printed from a Joanna Sheen disc. Loads of lovely texture, I hope she likes it!!!

I also want to enter this one into Mixed Media Monday challenge, which is come fly with me.
I would love to shrink small enough to fly with this dragonfly!!

DragonFlight

This piece is made to fit 2 challenges this week. The first inspiration was Arty Girlz, blue and yellow, and the form was dictated by the Tag You're It theme of wings. I have used Glimmer mists in lemon zest, sea grass and denim blue, to colour the tag and embellishment. I coloured the image of the dragonflies, with inktense pencils. The stamps are from Aspects of Design (from the StampMan) designed by Kay Carley - I have all 4 Japanese sets and they are great favs. I added some texture using chalk eyes and stamps from UMount butterflies, and finished off with yellow and blue ribbons from my stash. I think this will make a good card topper.

I Am All Loved Out Now... no more hearts/romance

This is my entry for 3 different challenges this week. The first is Dans Ma Maison il y a - love. The second is Daring Cardmakers who are feeling green, and the third is Tag You're it - love and romance. Ok now!! Enough love and romance. I will be pleased when this Valentine's Day is over!!! (I know, I am a kill joy, but too much of a good thing gets ???)

I am LOVING so much stamping. ALL the elements here are stamped, except for the brad and tassel, of course... From the top down, the roof is a huge one called bead curtain, from Stamp Addicts. The oriental writing is also from them and the other script is my new UMount. The cloudy moon is another Stamp Addicts, as is the star. The agapanthus is from Stampendous, embossed with clear ep. The dots are done with my Cuttlebug swiss dots and the main image is one of the first plates I bought, from The StampMan. I painted it with Cosmic Shimmers + water brush. There is a bamboo stamp too, which is a fav, but I can't conjure up from where it came... The whole piece is displayed on a sheet from the wonderful Far East Stack , from DCWV.

It won't be my fault if people looking at my blog don't get hooked on STAMPING!!!
