TIO #41 - Steampunk Influences!!

Here is my piece for the TIO challenge this week.

I have gone all industrial and cogs this week, inspired by the stamps I won a couple of weeks ago from Home Impressions!!! I NEVER win anything, but I DID get these and they are fab... it's a great site to visit, so why not have a look??!!

So, I used these 4 cogs and some metal embellies from TH... I also stamped a piece of collage from UMount and a couple of images from A Stamp in the Hand Avante Guarde#2. There are stamps from Hero Arts and Judikins. The distress inks are my usual dark colours, soot and sapphire, embossed with clear melt dust... The whole edge was embossed in TH vintage photo distress powder. As a "tag" it is large at about 15cms square.

Also, please wish me luck for my knee operation on Saturday next, 5thJune!!!
Thanks for looking
Hugs

Happy Birthday, Mum for 7th August

This is a birthday card I have made for my mum. It is actually a four-fold concertina, even though it is split image here. I began by antiquing the white card with distress inks and my lovely field of sky and splatter stamps from Stamp Addicts, by Judikins. I then atached an image from Joanna Sheen's oriental cd, and made a roundle with the greetings stamp from Hobby Art and the coin from the Asian set, by Stamp in the hand. The lovely lady is from Cherry Blossom, by Curious by Design. I love this stamp, as she looks out at us in such a haunting way... The butterfly is another one that regular visitors will recognise, from Stamp Addicts by Judikins. I coloured it with alcohol inks. I hope she likes it... I expect she will!!
Thanks for looking, today...

Zetti Moo - Make a Moo or Two Challenge

At Make a Moo or Two, the theme is Zettiology. I have made moos before, but never tried this Zetti lark ... it's fun as there seem to be no holds barred!! Odd people and some black and white!! Sorry, that is far too simplistic, and I shall have more goes at it...

I used some Cosmic shimmers, some freebie swirl and squares stamps. I created the lines with an agapanthus stem and a UMount diamond plate forms the body. The heads are from Avante Guarde by Stamp in the Hand. That's it really... I had fun!!! Thanks for looking.

Time on my Hands

This 7"x7" piece is presented for 2 challenges - TGIF, hands, and ABC Challenge, B for blue and brown. Early ideas for the "hands" challenge were already used by a couple of other people (note to self - get going more quickly or change your time zone!!! LOL), so I had to think again. Hands on clocks seemed to fit the bill, so here they are....

Most of the stamped images are from the UMount plate, time, plus a dandelion-lookalike-agapanthus by Stampendous, and a couple from the set Avante Garde, by Stamp in the Hand. I did something for the background that I have never managed before - I used My Craft Studio to import some images from Google, then manipulated them until I was happy. I ran the card through the printer, and printed directly on to it. The stamping was mostly done straight on top, and embossed with clear ep. The whole clock was given new hands + hands and the little clock was perched on to the new minute hand... Daft but "cute" - well, as cute as I ever do!!!!

Double Challenge - A Pear in a Birdie Tree

I really love this. It will definitely find it's way on to a card!!

I am entering it as a double challenge, for My Time to Craft - a little birdie told me - and Mixed Media Monday - fruit, chosen by Hermine, whose own offering is lovely. I have stamped this one with the Partridge in a Pear Tree theme plate, by Elusive Images, in saddle brown stazon. I masked the tree, after embossing it with gold ep, and printed the script pear 4 times, and coloured in with Sakura pens.

The bird and large pear in the centre are raised on 1cm pads, and the whole is distressed with my usual old paper and brushed corduroy. I used A Field of Sky, by A Stamp in the Hand, to add pitted looking dots, to help the aged look and mounted the whole on a sheet of my fav DCWV Fairy Tale paper. Thanks for looking, I appreciate all the comments I get!!

Sunday Postcard Art - Full Moon and Circles

Oh!! This is fun!!

I used some shiny card and printed various circles with several distress inks. I embossed with clear ep, then laid a mask and sprayed with glimmer mist in fully purple. I finished off by brayering with Big n juicy gumdrop to take the whiteness off the clear spaces. The cloudy moon is a Stamp in the hand, printed in purple stazon, masked, then brayered with the gumdrop and cut out with a large punch. The whole postcard is mounted on a corner of a sheet from the DCWV Fairy Tale pack, to pick out the marigold colours in the circles. I SO enjoyed this... thanks for the challenge Hermine, at Sunday Postcard Art.

Dans Ma Maison Il Y A - a ladder!!

I have entered this house in the challenge from Dans Ma Maison Il Y A, this week. The addition was to be a ladder. I used my glimmer mists and Glitz spritz for the background and the cut outs, stamped in black stazon, from a set of stamps called "Avant Garde" by A Stamp in the Hand. I mounted the house on to some more of that paper I made by swirling and painting different glitter glues. I shall also send it to TGIF, whose theme this week, is green - this IS very green!!!
